Description

A decorative set of eight hand-painted figures depicting mounted officers of the Napoleonic era, including Marshal Jean-Baptiste Bessières, Marshal Emmanuel de Grouchy and Marshal Józef Poniatowski.

Each figure is individually modelled in composite material and hand-painted with considerable attention to the distinctive uniforms, equipment and horses of the period. The figures are mounted on individual wooden bases and stand approximately 10 cm high.

Produced during the mid-20th century, the set reflects the long-standing interest in the personalities and colourful cavalry uniforms of the Napoleonic Wars. An attractive ensemble for the collector of Napoleonic militaria and historical miniatures.

Sold as a complete set of eight.
