Description
A rare Swiss military chapeau dating from c. 1820–1830, from the period of the Confederation of the XXII Cantons.
The black felt bicorne is fitted with a prominent metallic braid loop and button, together with a cockade and distinctive pompon. Its restrained construction and insignia are characteristic of military headgear of the Restoration period.
